2009 Free Comic Book Day Celebration was a big hit!
We just wanted to say thank you to all the folks who came out to either the store or the library celebrations last Saturday
for this year's Free Comic Book Day. We had an amazing time playing host to our friends both old and new. The Free Lance
Star and
www.Fredericksburg.com were kind enough to write two articles promoting the festivities last week and they helped bring out more people than
we had hoped for. Thanks to the wonderful writers from both the Weekender and It! sections of our hometown paper. A special
thanks to Spiderman and Dark Phoenix for spending their Saturday with us. A special shout out and thanks to a surprise guest,
Batgirl as well! One of the big hits at the library event was our very own Seth The Magician, from Miller Magic! His magic
show was amazing! My daughter Gracie was just one of the many kids who were glued to their seats watching his every feat of
magic. Keep your eyes peeled for our upcoming anniversary events in a couple of months. I plan on having one heck of a party
where we will be having crazy sales, another great magic show featuring Seth The Magician, costume contests, art contests,
guest appearances, and a whole lot more. July 1st, 2009 marks my twentieth anniversary selling comics and toys to the
Fredericksburg community and that is a cause for celebration!

Star Trek movie Review
My kids and I saw the new Star Trek movie tonight and it was awesome! The audience was cheering at every new introduction
like they were welcoming home long lost friends. It was just plain fun the entire movie. Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto were
terrific as adversaries who would grow to like and respect each other. Simon Pegg was witty. Karl Urban was a bit off. Probably
because I am more used to seeing him playing hardcases in Pathfinder or The Chronicles of Riddick. Anyways, we had a great
time and hopefully you will also.

Wolverine release date changes
Publishing Timeline Changes for Marvel Comics’ Wolverine Lead Stories,
Diamond Daily, 4/23/2009 | |
| | | Wolverine
#73 |
| |
| | | Wolverine
#72 |
|
Marvel Comics has announced changes to the
publishing timeline of Wolverine, which retailers are encouraged to note.
In order to better support
retailers in their quest to translate interest in X-Men Origins: Wolverine into sales for this title, Marvel will
release Wolverine #73 (
$2.99) before Wolverine #72 (
$2.99), the continuation of Mark Millar and Steve McNiven’s “Old Man Logan” storyline. Issue #73 will arrive
on May 13, while issue #72 will go on sale May 20.
This is done because issue #73
from writers Jason Aaron & Daniel Way and artists Adam Kubert & Tommy Lee Edwards features the start of two two-part
stories focusing on the character, thus providing the perfect jumping on point for new readers the Wolverine film
could help produce. Both stories will be concluded in the pages of Wolverine #74 (
$2.99), scheduled to land in stores on May 27.
The “Old Man Logan” storyline continuing in May 20’s
Wolverine #72 will now conclude in a Giant Size Old Man Logan special, which was announced at this
year's New York ComicCon.

Comic Release List Updated
A new feature of our website will be a page dedicated to keeping you up to date on which comic titles we will be
carrying for any given month. Understand that this list comes from data we have obtained from Diamond Comic Distributors and
is not 100 % accurate. Books can be delayed or cancelled by the publisher or Diamond/UPS. You can email us at
oldtowntoys@aol.com or print out a list of titles which you want us to set aside for you and drop it off here at the store. Hopefully this makes
it easier for everyone to keep up with the changing title solicitations each month. The link to the page is on the left hand
side navigation bar.
